It's been almost a decade since I began my wellness journey. I was only 16 when I found myself on a two-year cycle of antibiotics that was coupled with Accutane and birth control – decisions that seemed right at the time but likely triggered years of gut issues, hormonal imbalances, and persistent acne. It took only four years and countless doctors telling me I had irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with no solutions in sight for me to realize I couldn't continue living like this. That’s when my journey to heal myself began through a holistic approach to wellness.
Supplements quickly became a part of my daily routine, and I couldn't ignore the significant gap in the industry's scientific standards. Transparency was lacking when it came to final product testing. Many supplements were tainted with high levels of heavy metals and contained unnecessary fillers, and some failed to deliver the promised dosage, let alone one backed by scientific research. With over seven years of combined experience in research and development and in the biotech sphere, I knew I had to step up as an advocate for greater accountability in this industry. That's when Nu Pursuit was born.
